Murarai
Murarai (also spelt Muraroi) (Bengali) is a town with a police station, community development block and an assembly constituency in Rampurhat subdivision of Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography
Murarai is located at 24.45,87.87. It has an average elevation of 23 m (75 ft).

Demographics
Murarai has two community development blocks.
Murarai I : - in the 2001 census, Murarai I community development block had a population of 154,282 out of which 79,193 were males and 75,089 were females.
Murarai II : - in the 2001 census, Murarai II community development block had a population of 177,730 out of which 90,522 were males and 87,208 were females.
Administration
Murarai I and II are intermediate panchayat (local self government) under Birbhum Zilla Parishad. Village panchayats under Murarai I and II intermediate panchayat are:.Chatra, Dumurgram, Gorsha, Mahurapur, Murarai, Palsa, Rajgram. Kushmore I and II, Mitrapur, Nandigram, Paikar I and II, and Rudranagar.
